Site Reliability Engineering Lead

Job summary

Motion Applied – Connected Intelligence (CI) is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to lead initiatives for creating and improving the CI 'Platform as a Service' (PaaS) offering. This role involves enabling product development teams to deliver software on immutable infrastructure, developing and facilitating production and development infrastructure and tooling, and integrating third-party managed services. The SRE will also lead the implementation of the CI cloud governance policy and participate in its maintenance.

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with large cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI)

• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience working in and developing for a Linux environment
• Excellent programming, debugging, and optimization skills in Go or Python
• Solid understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and version control (Git)
• Knowledge of observability and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
• Experience troubleshooting incidents and live environments
• Ability to write and speak English fluently
• Familiarity with AWS Well-Architected Framework (desirable)
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining multitenant and multi-region cloud infrastructure (desirable)
• Exposure to configuration management tools (Ansible, SaltStack) (desirable)
• Knowledge in cyber security (threat intelligence, IAM, key management, data security, application security, cryptography, certificate management) (desirable)

Responsibilities

• Lead initiatives to create and improve the CI 'Platform as a Service' (PaaS) offering
• Enable product development teams to deliver software products on immutable infrastructure
• Develop and facilitate production and development infrastructure and associated tooling
• Integrate third-party managed services for delivery and development lifecycles
• Lead implementation of the CI cloud governance policy for PaaS
• Participate in maintaining and updating the CI cloud governance policy
• Contribute to the Roadmap for the CI Platform
• Develop and maintain the CI Platform
• Collaborate and consult with software engineers and data scientists to design and implement robust and scalable software products
• Share knowledge and educate team members to foster a DevOps culture
• Proactively monitor costs and security posture of the CI Platform and products
• Define and implement tooling to improve software development, release, and maintenance processes
• Develop product features with product delivery teams, building upon the CI Platform offering
• Support live systems, including identifying and implementing improvements for reliability
• Design and implement infrastructure for multi-region and multi-tenant products and platforms
• Design and implement monitoring infrastructure for real-time data streams
• Design network and access for software engineers and data scientists to access AWS services securely
• Enable and collaborate with teams to automate product delivery
• Design and implement security and access management for AWS resources and IoT devices
• Identify root cause of live issues and implement improvements for future reliability
