Principal Data Platform Engineer

Job summary

Lead the architecture and hands-on implementation of a scalable, secure Google Cloud data platform that supports analytics and AI for global language services. Own reusable Terraform infrastructure, automated CI/CD, and data pipelines built with BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataform, Cloud Composer, and related GCP services. Establish engineering standards and use automation and AI agents to improve platform reliability and pipeline delivery.

Qualifications

• Expert-level Terraform experience and familiarity with GitHub Actions or similar deployment tools.
• Deep GCP experience, including BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataform, Cloud Composer, and Pub/Sub.
• Knowledge of IAM, RBAC, VPC design, and firewall configuration.
• Strong Python programming skills and experience with Java or Scala.
• Experience designing ELT/ETL workflows and working with Apache Spark.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement a scalable, secure GCP data platform for analytics and AI.
• Build reusable, modular Terraform code to provision environments and data products.
• Implement automated, controlled, and auditable CI/CD deployments for infrastructure and data code.
• Design and build data pipelines using BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataform, Cloud Composer, and Knowledge Catalog.
• Use AI agents and automation to accelerate pipeline delivery and increase engineering throughput.
