Job summary
This role engineers and operates secure, resilient AWS infrastructure for reporting workloads across development, test, user acceptance, and production environments. It builds ECS and Fargate container platforms, provisions standardized infrastructure with AWS CDK and TypeScript, and configures networking, security, and observability. The work also includes capacity and cost optimization, high-availability engineering, cutovers, rollback, troubleshooting, and production recovery.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of AWS core services, including CloudWatch, VPC, subnets, Application Load Balancer, Route 53, VPC endpoints, and PrivateLink.
- Knowledge of AWS Compute Optimizer, Cost Explorer, and Budgets.
- Knowledge of Amazon Redshift, Amazon Aurora, and AWS CDK with TypeScript.
Responsibilities
- Build and operate ECS and Fargate container infrastructure for reporting workloads.
- Provision and manage development, system integration testing, user acceptance testing, and production environments using AWS CDK with TypeScript.
- Configure VPCs, subnets, route tables, security groups, Application Load Balancers, Route 53, VPC endpoints, and PrivateLink.
- Implement ECS and Fargate scaling policies, including scheduled and queue-backlog-based scaling where applicable.
- Configure observability with CloudWatch, Container Insights, logs, alarms, dashboards, and anomaly detection.
- Secure infrastructure using IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager, security groups, CloudTrail, and CloudWatch Logs.
- Manage Aurora and Redshift infrastructure, including capacity, connectivity, security, availability, scaling, and monitoring.
- Optimize capacity and cost using Compute Optimizer, Cost Explorer, Budgets, cost anomaly detection, Container Insights, and Fargate Spot.
- Support high availability, resiliency, chaos testing, production parallel runs, cutovers, rollbacks, hypercare, and recovery.
- Perform monitoring, troubleshooting, demand analysis, and capacity planning using CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Athena, and related AWS services.
