Qualifications

  • 0-3 years of experience in IT engineering, IT operations, systems administration, or a similar role (internships and substantial side projects count).
  • Working knowledge of SSO and identity concepts: SAML, OIDC, SCIM, MFA.
  • Understand the difference between authentication and authorization.
  • Comfortable working in a terminal.
  • Proficient in at least one scripting language (Python, Bash, or similar).
  • Ability to write, test, and commit code using Git.
  • Possess a security-first mindset.
  • Understand least privilege principles.
  • Do not share credentials.
  • Take audit trails seriously.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Ability to explain technical fixes to non-technical teammates.
  • Ability to document processes clearly.
  • Demonstrate ownership by investigating and resolving issues proactively.
  • Availability to work hours that overlap with the US Central Time (CST) zone (at least 4-5 hours daily).
  • English and Russian language proficiency at B2 level for communication with stakeholders and team.
  • Experience with an identity provider such as Okta or Google Cloud Identity (plus).
  • Hands-on experience administering Google Workspace and a chat platform (Slack/Teams) (plus).
  • Experience with SaaS security tooling, SIEM, or endpoint detection (e.g., CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Sumo Logic, Datadog) (plus).
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, or HIPAA (plus).

Responsibilities

  • Configure and maintain SSO integrations (SAML, OIDC, SCIM) across the SaaS stack.
  • Maintain a clean and well-governed identity provider.
  • Provision, modify, and deprovision accounts across productivity and engineering tools.
  • Manage groups, roles, and permission boundaries.
  • Triage and fulfill access requests with appropriate approvals.
  • Document access grants and review them regularly.
  • Equip new hires with accounts, tools, hardware, and access before day one.
  • Walk new hires through their setup.
  • Execute clean and auditable offboarding.
  • Revoke access, recover assets, and preserve data per policy during offboarding.
  • Administer Google Workspace, Slack, identity providers, MDM, password managers, and other SaaS productivity tools.
  • Provide first-line support for employee IT issues.
  • Resolve, escalate, and document IT issues.
  • Enforce baseline security configurations across SaaS applications, endpoints, and identity (MFA, conditional access, least privilege).
  • Monitor security tooling for anomalies and alerts.
  • Investigate, triage, and escalate security incidents.
  • Maintain clean records of access, changes, and reviews for audit readiness.
  • Automate repetitive tasks using scripting.
  • Write Python, Bash, or TypeScript glue code.
  • Interact with SaaS APIs.
