(Senior) DevOps Engineer (all genders) – Linux (RHEL) & Automation

Job summary

DATAGROUP is seeking a (Senior) DevOps Engineer to join their team in Wiesbaden, Frankfurt am Main, or Ingelheim am Rhein, with hybrid work options. This role involves managing technically challenging projects for large, often international clients, focusing on the conception, further development, and automation of Linux-based infrastructures, particularly RHEL, using Ansible and Terraform. The position also includes operating and continuously optimizing client-side RHEL-based Linux server landscapes.

Qualifications

• Completed degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a related IT field
• Proven experience in administering Linux server infrastructures, ideally with RHEL (8.3 and higher)
• In-depth knowledge of automation with Ansible, including Ansible Tower/AWX if applicable
• Experience with modern infrastructure technologies such as Terraform, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge of configuring and operating web servers like Apache HTTP and Apache Tomcat
• Experience connecting and managing MS SQL databases and using monitoring tools (Checkmk) is a plus
• Ideally, experience creating and maintaining scripts (e.g., Bash, Python) for automating operational processes

• Gather and analyze technical client requirements in existing or new environments
• Install, integrate, and migrate larger IT infrastructure systems according to client requirements
• Operate and continuously optimize client-side RHEL-based Linux server landscapes
• Ensure smooth system operation, including monitoring (e.g., Checkmk), patching, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
