Senior Cloud and DevOps Engineer - Azure Applications

Job summary

Own Azure application environments and ensure reliable deployment, monitoring, security, and recovery for digital platforms. Configure development, UAT, and production environments; automate releases for web applications and APIs; maintain infrastructure as code; and investigate incidents, manage cloud costs, and coordinate backup and recovery. The role works with Azure services, Azure DevOps Pipelines or GitHub Actions, Terraform or Bicep, Docker, and applications built with Next.js, React, Node.js, .NET, and Strapi.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of cloud or DevOps engineering experience, including at least 3 years operating production applications on Azure.
• Strong experience with Azure App Service, Functions, Storage/Blob, Key Vault, Azure Monitor, and Application Insights.
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps Pipelines or GitHub Actions, including secure deployment and rollback.
• Practical experience with Terraform or Bicep.
• Experience deploying and troubleshooting Node.js, Next.js, .NET, and headless CMS applications.
• Practical Docker experience; Kubernetes experience is preferred where relevant.
• Proficiency in PowerShell, Bash, or Python for operational automation.
• Understanding of Microsoft Entra ID, managed identities, RBAC, DNS, TLS, private endpoints, and application connectivity.
• Experience supporting SQL Server and PostgreSQL deployment and connectivity, including backup and recovery coordination.
• Experience with incident diagnosis, root-cause analysis, monitoring, and recovery testing.
• Ability to coordinate developers, vendors, Technical Support, and security teams with clear operational ownership.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Microsoft Azure Administrator or DevOps Engineer certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Configure and maintain development, UAT, and production environments for web applications, APIs, CMS, and supporting services.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Next.js, React, Node.js, .NET, and Strapi applications.
• Maintain repeatable, version-controlled infrastructure configuration and consistent environments.
• Implement deployment checks, approval controls, rollback procedures, and release traceability.
• Establish health checks, logs, dashboards, and actionable alerts; investigate production incidents.
• Configure application identities, access controls, certificates, and secrets in coordination with security teams.
• Assess scaling, resource utilization, availability, and cloud expenditure; recommend improvements.
• Coordinate application and database backups and validate restoration and recovery procedures.
• Maintain environment inventories, deployment guides, runbooks, and knowledge-transfer materials.
