Job summary

Join Cube Academy as a part-time DevOps Engineer to gain real-world experience in cloud infrastructure, security, and platform tooling. This role involves supporting cloud infrastructure on AWS and GCP, assisting with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, and contributing to CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

  • Interest in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or systems administration
  • Desire to build real-world experience
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Exposure to a scripting or programming language (e.g., Python, Bash)
  • Curious and analytical mindset
  • Great communication skills and willingness to ask questions
  • Eagerness to learn how cloud infrastructure is built and operated, including Linux, networking, and deployment pipelines
  • Comfort using AI tools to support learning and day-to-day work
  • Understanding of the importance of human judgment
  • Organized, adaptable, and happy to ask for guidance
  • Alignment with Cube’s values: empathy, curiosity, and accountability
  • Familiarity with version control (Git) and basic command line usage (nice to have)
  • Experience working in a digital delivery environment (agency, consultancy, placement, or team-based project) (nice to have)
  • Early exposure to containers (Docker) or infrastructure concepts such as CI/CD or IaC (nice to have)

Responsibilities

  • Support setup and maintenance of cloud infrastructure on AWS and GCP
  • Assist with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
  • Help monitor system health and performance using AWS Cloudtrail and Cloudwatch
  • Learn to respond to alerts
  • Support VPS setup, maintenance, and recovery
  • Assist with hosting cost reviews
  • Support security maintenance tasks, including SonarQube updates and issue investigation
  • Collaborate with backend developers, project managers, and the platform team
  • Contribute to documentation of infrastructure setups, processes, and runbooks
  • Continuously learn and reflect on incidents, feedback, and outcomes
