Lead DevSecOps Engineer

Job summary

Pinsent Masons is seeking a Lead DevSecOps Engineer to define, build, and drive the firm’s DevSecOps capability across Technology Services, embedding agile, modern, and secure engineering practices. This hands-on technology leadership role involves approximately 80% hands-on delivery and 20% technology leadership, with opportunities to mentor a small team and influence stakeholders. The role offers significant autonomy and the chance to evolve capability, tooling, and maturity within the firm.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in DevSecOps, DevOps, or security engineering
• Experience designing and running secure delivery pipelines
• Strong hands-on expertise with CI/CD tooling, including SAST, DAST, and software composition analysis
• Experience working with cloud platforms, primarily Microsoft Azure, and Azure DevOps pipelines
• Practical knowledge of infrastructure-as-code, particularly Terraform
• Knowledge of security scanning and policy-as-code
• Experience securing containerised environments and Kubernetes workloads
• Broad technical understanding across development, security, and operations (Dev/Sec/Ops)
• Ability to operate across development, security, and operations

• Shape, build, and drive the firm’s DevSecOps capability across Technology Services
• Embed agile, modern, and secure engineering practices across Security, Operations, and Solutions
• Define how DevSecOps operates within the firm
• Take ownership of DevSecOps delivery
• Play a key role in evolving capability, tooling, and maturity
• Perform hands-on delivery (approximately 80%)
• Provide technology leadership (approximately 20%)
• Drive initiatives forward
• Contribute to quarterly planning
• Influence stakeholders at all levels
• Mentor and guide a small existing team
• Work with a delivery partner for additional capacity and capability
