Job summary
The Senior DevOps Engineer advances cloud, platform, and reliability engineering across development, test, and production environments, serving as a technical escalation point and mentor for engineering teams. The role builds secure CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, self-service deployment patterns, and observability, while applying Site Reliability Engineering and AI-assisted operations practices. Technologies include Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps, Terraform, PowerShell, Python, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Qualifications
- 5–7 years of progressive experience in DevOps, systems engineering, cloud engineering, platform engineering, infrastructure automation, software delivery, or a related IT field
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and relevant experience
- Experience designing and improving CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, cloud or hybrid infrastructure, and operational tooling
- Experience supporting enterprise applications, databases, middleware, ERP platforms, or business-critical systems
- Experience mentoring engineers, leading technical improvements, and establishing standards
- Local to the Kansas City metropolitan area
Responsibilities
- Provide senior technical guidance and escalation support to DevOps engineers and project teams
- Lead root cause analysis for complex environment, deployment, infrastructure, performance, and reliability issues
- Design and maintain secure, repeatable CI/CD pipelines
- Build Infrastructure as Code and automation for cloud and hybrid environments
- Develop reusable templates, self-service workflows, deployment patterns, and shared tooling
- Apply reliability practices including service-level objectives, error budgets, incident reviews, capacity planning, and toil reduction
- Implement logging, metrics, tracing, dashboards, alerting, and telemetry
- Integrate security and compliance controls into pipelines and platform services
- Support containerization and cloud-native deployment practices
- Create technical documentation, runbooks, and operational standards
