Job summary

The role operates and improves Linux-based sovereign cloud infrastructure, providing level 2 and 3 support to development teams and clients. Responsibilities include diagnosing server and Kubernetes incidents, maintaining availability and security, managing monitoring and patching, and automating recurring operations with Ansible, scripts, and GitLab CI. The environment includes Debian, Kubernetes, XCP-ng, Prometheus, Grafana, Apache, PHP-FPM, and MariaDB.

• Education in systems, networking, or DevOps, or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of Linux, particularly Debian, including services, logs, networking, and troubleshooting.
• Scripting ability with Bash or Python and practical experience with Git, Ansible, and CI/CD.
• Knowledge of web environments such as Apache, PHP, and MariaDB.
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration, including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of monitoring principles and tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Composure during incidents and clear communication with non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Handle, qualify, and resolve level 2 and 3 support tickets and operational alerts.
• Diagnose incidents affecting servers and Kubernetes clusters.
• Advise development teams and clients on deployments and requested changes.
• Document incidents and maintain procedures and runbooks.
• Maintain infrastructure availability and performance, including monitoring, capacity tracking, backups, restore tests, and certificate renewals.
• Operate monitoring tools, respond to alerts, tune thresholds, and reduce alert noise.
• Maintain XCP-ng virtualization platforms and Kubernetes clusters.
• Plan infrastructure updates based on vulnerability monitoring and operational priorities.
• Maintain automatic updates and package repositories, and verify system compliance after changes.
• Respond to security alerts and harden servers.
• Automate recurring tasks using Ansible playbooks, scripts, and GitLab CI pipelines.
• Improve operations to reduce support tickets and manual interventions.
