Job summary

Gearbox is seeking a System/Network Administrator to join their IT team in Quebec City. This role involves ensuring stable, secure, and high-performing services, with a focus on building future infrastructure through automation and Kubernetes. The position is hybrid and requires occasional atypical hours to support a large production team.

• Solid experience in server administration (Linux and Windows) and virtualization (VMware, Nutanix).
• Knowledge of networks including VPNs, routing protocols, and firewall management (PFsense, Cisco).
• Practical experience with Kubernetes (K8s) and Docker.
• Proficiency in Git and familiarity with Perforce.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, and ticketing tools.
• Ability to independently learn from technical documentation to find functional solutions.
• Enthusiasm and determination in solving assigned problems.
• Belief that tasks are complete only with clear and shareable documentation.
• Excellent communication skills in both French and English, oral and written.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize user needs to ensure efficiency and performance.
• Identify, design, and implement scripts and tools to automate repetitive tasks.
• Manage, optimize, and evolve Kubernetes clusters to support production pipelines.
• Maintain Linux and Windows servers and virtualization infrastructure while integrating CI/CD practices.
• Independently learn and integrate new DevOps tools into the technology stack.
• Ensure infrastructure performance and security for game developers.
• Collaborate with production teams to understand technical needs and provide support.
• Install, secure, and manage software and hardware technologies, and monitor systems for troubleshooting.
