AI Platform Engineer

Job summary

Frontiers is seeking a full-stack AI Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate FrontiersOS, integrating AI agents into existing systems. The role requires strong engineering skills and AI fluency to enhance workflows across editorial, research integrity, and publishing operations.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of engineering experience, including 1-2 years of proven production AI/LLM delivery
• Strong engineering fundamentals
• Systems thinking
• Strong, demonstrated AI fluency
• Experience with evaluation methodology for AI/agentic systems
• Comfortable owning ambiguous, cross-cutting problems
• A proficient cross-department communicator
• A curious builder at heart
• Fast learner of unfamiliar business domains
• Strong stakeholder management
• Genuine curiosity about where the business needs leverage

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate FrontiersOS end to end
• Build for self-service, not for engineers
• Architect for reliability and scale
• Build the auditing and evaluation layer for agents and other agentic systems
• Use AI-assisted development as a default part of your own workflow
• Take full accountability for what you ship
