Qualifications

  • Completed university degree (Bachelor or equivalent) in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Administrative Informatics, Media Informatics, or a related field
  • Completed three-year IT vocational training (e.g., IT specialist) with demonstrable several years of professional experience in the mentioned areas
  • Experience with RAG architectures, embeddings, and vector databases (e.g., Qdrant, Milvus)
  • Knowledge of MLOps, CI/CD pipelines, model versioning, and automated deployment processes
  • Experience in developing and maintaining REST or GraphQL APIs and integrating AI services into existing applications
  • Basic understanding of IT security, data protection, and compliance in AI system deployment
  • Experience with GPU workloads, model optimization, or operating resource-intensive AI applications
  • Ability to realistically assess technical developments in AI and communicate them understandably to non-technical audiences
  • Interest in the intersection of AI, public administration, and digital transformation

Responsibilities

  • Build the technical foundation for AI in administration
  • Operate and develop AI infrastructure, including Linux servers, container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes), model hosting, vector databases, and AI agents
  • Ensure secure and data-protection-compliant AI operations
  • Evaluate, configure, and operate open-source LLMs and local inference solutions to protect administrative data
  • Build and maintain Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) workflows, including document indexing, embeddings, vector databases, and automated model updates
  • Develop and maintain interfaces, APIs, and integrations for AI service integration into administrative processes, web applications, digital platforms, and IT service processes
  • Monitor performance, availability, response quality, latencies, and user satisfaction of AI applications and derive technical improvements
  • Maintain a central AI register with information on applications, models, data types, dependencies, and technical risks
  • Translate technical opportunities, limitations, and risks of AI for management, IT security, data protection, and compliance
  • Collaborate with IT security, data protection, and compliance to provide technical assessments for new AI services
  • Observe and evaluate new AI tools, frameworks, and platform approaches for suitability in secure and reliable administration
