Job summary
The AI Architect defines and evolves the AI architecture for an internal developer platform used by engineering and product teams. The role sets technical standards and designs reusable AI components, retrieval and agent services, evaluation and LLMOps practices, and multi-tenant governance, security, observability, and cost controls. The platform uses Python, Azure, Kubernetes/AKS, Terraform, PostgreSQL, and vector search, with requirements including RBAC, OWASP LLM Top 10 defenses, and EU AI Act compliance.

Qualifications
- At least 7 years of software or platform engineering experience, including 2-3 years in technical leadership or architecture.
- Recent experience with generative AI or AI-driven systems and production-grade LLM architecture.
- Expert Python skills, including FastAPI, Pydantic, and asynchronous systems, with production API design experience.
- Experience designing RAG systems, LLM evaluation frameworks, reusable platform components, and distributed multi-tenant services.
- Deep Azure experience, Kubernetes/AKS at scale, Docker, and Terraform.
- Knowledge of authentication, authorization, RBAC, tenant isolation, OWASP LLM Top 10, and EU AI Act implications.
- Experience mentoring engineers, conducting architecture reviews, and setting technical standards.
- BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI, or a related field.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the AI architecture for an internal developer platform.
- Set technical direction, select architectural patterns and technologies, and guide build-versus-buy decisions.
- Design reusable retrieval, guardrail, evaluation, SDK, API, and scaffolder components.
- Define evaluation standards and production practices for AI assets, prompts, and retrieval.
- Architect multi-tenant governance, observability, cost tracking, security, and compliance.
- Mentor engineers, conduct architecture reviews, and represent AI architecture to stakeholders and partners.
