AI Platform Engineer (m/f/d)

Job summary

The AI Platform Engineer role is responsible for managing the target operating model of the CIT AI platform, ensuring operational readiness and governance. Key responsibilities include defining platform standards for LLM APIs, overseeing MLOps Engineers, and coordinating with integration partners, utilizing technologies such as Python, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud AI/ML services on Azure or AWS.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in platform engineering, DevOps, cloud engineering, or ML engineering
• Experience moving workloads to stable production operations
• Technical direction experience for engineering teams or external partners
• Strong background in Python, CI/CD, and Git workflows
• Understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud AI/ML services
• Knowledge of MLOps concepts and production observability
• Understanding of enterprise security expectations
• Ability to communicate technical trade-offs to stakeholders
• Fluency in English, spoken and written

Responsibilities

• Own the target operating model for the CIT AI platform
• Define reusable platform patterns and standards for LLM APIs and evaluation pipelines
• Set technical direction and priorities for MLOps Engineers
• Transition from sandbox environments to production-ready architectures
• Define cost transparency and usage visibility for AI platform consumption
• Coordinate with system integration and cloud implementation partners
• Manage platform decisions and security assumptions
• Act as primary contact for architecture and governance teams
• Report platform roadmap and production-readiness status to stakeholders
