Job summary
Vodafone is seeking an AI Platform Engineer to design and build engineering platforms that enable AI-native software delivery at scale. The role involves improving engineering productivity and software quality through automation and collaboration with technical teams.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of software engineering, platform engineering or developer tooling experience
- Skilled in designing and operating developer platforms and CI/CD capabilities
- Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures and modern software delivery practices
- Experience building reusable platform capabilities for developer productivity
- Familiarity with AI-assisted software development tools
- Knowledge of AI technologies and automated validation tooling
- Understanding of LLM cost optimisation and token management
- Deep understanding of observability and automated testing
- Knowledge of platform security and operational controls
- Strong programming and problem-solving capabilities
- Passionate about improving developer experience
- Effective communicator with engineering teams and stakeholders
Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain engineering platform capabilities for AI-native software delivery
- Develop reusable delivery controls, templates, pipelines, and automation
- Embed automated validation and quality checks into software delivery workflows
- Build reusable patterns for safe AI-assisted development
- Improve developer experience through streamlined workflows and tooling integration
- Develop observability and measurement capabilities for engineering insights
- Collaborate with Technical Leads and AI Software Engineers on engineering challenges
- Enable responsible use of AI-generated code and documentation through validation
- Drive continuous improvement in CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
- Ensure platform capabilities are secure, scalable, and maintainable
- Evaluate and recommend emerging AI engineering tools
- Contribute to engineering standards and developer enablement initiatives
