AI Platform Engineer (w/m/d)

Job summary

As an AI Platform Engineer at Capgemini, you design the technical foundation for LLM inference, data/vector stores, and modern AI workloads. You conceptualize, automate, and operate AI platforms while collaborating closely with DevOps, architects, and AI teams.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in DevSecOps/Platform Engineering in production environments; strong automation skills.
• Proficient in Kubernetes, Python, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, etc.) including GitOps workflows.
• Experience in operating distributed systems including multi-service orchestration (e.g., reverse proxies), observability, and security hardening.
• Initial or advanced experience with AI platform components: LLM inference (e.g., vLLM/Triton), RAG, vector databases, and frameworks (e.g., Langchain, Pydantic, FastAPI).
• Motivated to actively shape robust AI platforms and quickly learn new technologies; fluent in German and English (minimum C1).

Responsibilities

• Design, automate, and operate AI platforms using Kubernetes, IaC, and GitOps.
• Integrate and configure AI components (e.g., LLM serving, RAG pipelines, vector databases) and optimize performance and costs.
• Manage observability (monitoring/logging/tracing) and security (secrets, certificates, SSO/IAM, hardening) for production environments.
• Collaborate closely with DevOps, architects, and AI teams to make technological decisions on platform components.
• Build and develop the managed service for platform operations (SLIs/SLOs, on-call, incident processes).
