Job summary

Institut Curie is seeking a Research Engineer or Scientist in Artificial Intelligence to join the AGORA project, focusing on developing an AI platform for biomedical research and precision oncology.

Qualifications

  • Strong Python development skills
  • Experience building APIs using FastAPI, Flask, or similar frameworks
  • Experience with SQL, NoSQL, and vector databases
  • Experience with Docker/Singularity and containerized environments
  • Familiarity with Linux systems and software engineering best practices
  • Experience developing and operating production-quality software
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, tracing, and observability tools
  • Knowledge of MLOps practices, CI/CD, and AI deployment workflows
  • Experience operating machine learning or LLM-based systems in production
  • Experience with ML Observability and AI infrastructure
  • Familiarity with OpenTelemetry, or similar tools
  • Experience monitoring model performance, data quality, and drift
  • Experience implementing evaluation frameworks for LLMs, RAG systems, or AI agents
  • Experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies
  • Experience working with biomedical, healthcare, or other regulated data environments

Responsibilities

  • Design the core AI platform architecture and define standards best practices for the project
  • Develop production-ready AI services, APIs, and infrastructure supporting RAG and multi-agent workflows
  • Ensure reproducibility, lineage tracking, logging, auditing and traceability of AI workflows
  • Implement evaluation and continuous validation pipelines for LLM-based systems
  • Define and monitor operational, performance, quality and reliability metrics
  • Build and maintain observability frameworks for AI systems and LLM applications
  • Implement monitoring pipelines covering inference workloads, latency, availability, cost and user interactions
  • Contribute to deployment and operation of GPU and inference infrastructure
  • Work closely with the Institut Curie Data Office and IT teams to ensure compliance and security
