AI Security Platform Engineer (Global Security)

Job summary

As an AI Security Platform Engineer (Global Security), you will design, build, and integrate the backend security infrastructure protecting RBC's rapidly growing AI ecosystem. This hands-on engineering role focuses on building the security foundation through robust backend services, embedding security into CI/CD pipelines, developing APIs and integrations with AI platform gateways, and connecting security tooling to the broader Cyber ecosystem. You will ship production code, own service reliability on Kubernetes, partner with AI platform and DevOps teams, and directly shape how the bank secures its rapidly growing AI footprint.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Six or more years of backend software engineering experience with strong, production-level coding proficiency in Python.
• Experience building containerized services using Kubernetes or OpenShift.
• Experience designing and building REST APIs, data connectors, and integration pipelines.
• Experience defining and implementing infrastructure and application pipelines.
• Ability to deliver robust, production-ready AI security solutions and platforms.
• Ability to drive continuous improvement.
• Advocate for safety and privacy-by-design.
• Communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
• Experience with LLM orchestration frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph) and AI observability tooling (Langfuse, LangSmith) or similar agentic AI development stacks.
• Experience with security scanning and SAST/DAST tools (Semgrep, Snyk, SonarQube), Vault/KMS, or AI security evaluation tools.
• Stay up to date with new and evolving AI security threats and mechanisms for defending against those threats.
• Experience with dual-cloud or hybrid environments and modern observability stacks (Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry).

Responsibilities

• Own the availability, reliability, and performance of security services running on Kubernetes.
• Design and build AI security products including AI Security Guardrails, AI SPM, and Shadow AI Discovery.
• Build and maintain APIs, connectors, and data pipelines that integrate with enterprise gateways and Cyber ecosystem.
• Integrate AI security tools into CI/CD deployment pipelines with automated security benchmarks and testing frameworks.
• Build strong partnerships with AI platform teams, DevOps, IAM, and Security Architecture.
