Application / Platform Engineer (Web + SDK)

Job summary

Mecka AI is seeking an Application / Platform Engineer to build web viewers, players, and SDKs for egocentric data. This role involves creating clean APIs, documentation, and performant frontends, acting as the interface between hardware, the data team, and data consumers. The engineer will own the developer- and viewer-facing layer on top of data ingest, storage, and processing.

Qualifications

• Track record of shipping production web applications to real users.
• Experience with at least one media- or data-heavy product owned end-to-end.
• Strong frontend engineering for media-heavy web applications, including video/sensor playback and large-data performance.
• Proficiency in modern JavaScript/TypeScript and a major framework.
• Demonstrated API/SDK design sense, building interfaces other engineers depended on.
• Comfortable working across teams and managing multiple interfaces.
• Experience with video/media tooling, WebGL/WebCodecs, or large time-series/sensor visualization.
• Prior SDK or developer-platform work with external consumers.
• Familiarity with hardware/data-adjacent products.

Responsibilities

• Design and ship web viewers and players for egocentric capture data, including multi-stream playback, timeline scrubbing, sync, and performance with large media.
• Design and build SDKs for hardware and data, including clean APIs, documentation, versioning, and developer ergonomics.
• Own interface contracts at the hardware, data, and consumer seam, coordinating with embedded and data teams.
• Define and ship tooling and reference implementations for internal teams and external developers.
