Job summary
The Automation Engineer develops scalable automation solutions to improve reliability and operational excellence across enterprise infrastructure and platform teams. The role includes automating manual processes with Ansible and ServiceNow, advising teams on Site Reliability Engineering and observability, and supporting modernization initiatives. It uses scripting and development technologies including Python, PowerShell, Bash, JSON, YAML, and GitHub, with familiarity in CI/CD and Windows and Linux environments.

Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of experience with Ansible, GitHub, and infrastructure automation.
- Experience developing automation with Python, PowerShell, Bash, JSON, and YAML.
- Strong understanding of Site Reliability Engineering principles and practices.
- Knowledge of observability concepts, including instrumentation, telemetry, monitoring, and alerting.
- Strong understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale automation and operational excellence initiatives.
- Familiarity with GitHub repository administration, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
- Exposure to cloud platforms and modern infrastructure technologies.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain automation solutions using Ansible, ServiceNow, and related technologies.
- Identify manual processes and operational inefficiencies and automate repetitive tasks to reduce operational toil.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, operations, application development, security, and architecture teams.
- Advise stakeholders on automation, observability, and Site Reliability Engineering practices.
- Ensure solutions comply with enterprise security policies, standards, and best practices.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to team members and stakeholders.
- Contribute to technology modernization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
