The Automation Engineer, Mid is tasked with designing and implementing automation solutions to enhance the efficiency and resilience of cybersecurity and network infrastructure. This role involves creating automated workflows using technologies such as PowerShell, Ansible, and Python, integrating cybersecurity tools, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and address automation opportunities.

• Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance with eligibility for SCI and NATO read-on
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field
• Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, including NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001
• Experience within a Department of Defense (DoD) or Intelligence Community (IC) setting

Responsibilities

• Create and deploy automation solutions to streamline cybersecurity processes
• Create and sustain custom scripts and workflows utilizing PowerShell, Ansible, Python
• Integrate cybersecurity tools and processes with existing infrastructure
• Identify manual processes in cybersecurity and IT operations
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements
• Assess effectiveness of automated solutions and modify workflows
• Encourage automating incident response and compliance monitoring tasks
• Develop workflows that improve system resilience
• Support maintenance of a secure environment by automating routine tasks
• Collaborate closely with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams
• Document all automation solutions
• Offer training and support on automation tools
• Perform thorough testing of automated workflows
• Troubleshoot issues with automation scripts and tools
• Conduct post-deployment reviews to assess effectiveness of automation solutions
