AWS DevOps Architect

Job summary

Design, build, automate, and operate secure, resilient AWS infrastructure for AI, data engineering, and application workloads. The role develops Terraform-based Infrastructure as Code, modernizes CI/CD pipelines with automated security and compliance controls, and supports Kubernetes and data platforms. It also addresses complex infrastructure and deployment issues while improving reliability, performance, and cost efficiency across multi-account, multi-cloud, and hybrid environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred, or equivalent education and experience.
• At least 10 years of combined DevOps, infrastructure, or platform engineering experience.
• At least 5 years designing, provisioning, and supporting AWS infrastructure.
• At least 5 years developing production Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
• At least 5 years supporting Linux/Unix systems, Kubernetes, and containerized environments.
• At least 5 years automating infrastructure and operations with Python, Bash, Shell, or similar languages.
• At least 5 years using source-control platforms such as GitHub, GitLab, or Azure DevOps, including 3 years building CI/CD workflows.
• Strong understanding of AWS architecture, cloud networking, security, IAM, and compliance.
• Experience automating security and compliance controls in CI/CD pipelines preferred.
• Experience with multi-account AWS, multi-cloud, and hybrid or on-premises environments preferred.
• Experience supporting AI, data science, or other data-intensive workloads preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and CloudFormation across multi-account AWS environments.
• Build reusable Terraform modules and automation for consistent infrastructure deployment.
• Apply AWS architecture, networking, IAM, security, resilience, and provisioning best practices.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, CodeBuild, ArgoCD, or similar tools.
• Integrate security, testing, policy validation, and compliance checks into delivery workflows.
• Automate infrastructure and operations with Terraform, Python, Bash, and Shell.
• Support deployments across containerized environments, Kubernetes clusters, and data platforms.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure and deployment issues across AWS, multi-cloud, and on-premises environments.
• Respond to incidents involving infrastructure, deployment, networking, and platform issues.
• Improve reliability, observability, performance, capacity, and cost efficiency through automation.
• Use and validate AI-assisted tools for infrastructure development, scripting, troubleshooting, and documentation.
• Provision, configure, manage, and troubleshoot AWS resources across accounts and environments using AWS CLI and scripting.
• Design and validate highly available AWS infrastructure with multi-region architecture, load balancing, automated scaling, monitoring, and tested failover.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering standards and reusable patterns.
