Job summary
The role engineers and operates AWS infrastructure for reporting workloads across development, testing, user acceptance, and production environments. Responsibilities include building ECS and Fargate platforms, provisioning repeatable deployments with AWS CDK and TypeScript, configuring networking, security, scaling, and observability, and managing Aurora and Redshift infrastructure. The engineer also supports high availability, recovery, troubleshooting, capacity planning, and cost optimization.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of AWS core services, including CloudWatch, VPC, subnets, Application Load Balancer, Route 53, VPC endpoints, and PrivateLink.
- Knowledge of AWS Compute Optimizer, Cost Explorer, and AWS Budgets.
- Knowledge of Amazon Redshift, Amazon Aurora, and AWS CDK with TypeScript.
Responsibilities
- Build and operate ECS and Fargate container infrastructure for reporting workloads.
- Provision development, system integration testing, user acceptance testing, and production environments using AWS CDK and TypeScript.
- Configure AWS networking with VPCs, subnets, route tables, security groups, load balancers, Route 53, VPC endpoints, and PrivateLink.
- Implement workload-specific ECS and Fargate scaling policies, including scheduled and queue-backlog-based scaling where applicable.
- Monitor infrastructure using CloudWatch, Container Insights, CloudWatch Logs, alarms, dashboards, and anomaly detection.
- Secure infrastructure using IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager, security groups, CloudTrail, and CloudWatch Logs.
- Provision and manage Amazon Aurora and Amazon Redshift infrastructure, including connectivity, security, availability, scaling, and monitoring.
- Optimize capacity and costs using AWS Compute Optimizer, Cost Explorer, AWS Budgets, Cost Anomaly Detection, and Fargate Spot.
- Support high availability, resilience, chaos testing, production parallel runs, cutover, rollback, and hypercare.
- Perform infrastructure troubleshooting, demand analysis, monitoring, and capacity planning.
