Azure Cloud Architect (Local to MS)

Job summary

The Azure Cloud Architect will be responsible for leading cloud migrations and implementations within a complex multi-tenant/subscription environment. This role requires deep knowledge of key Azure services, proficiency with infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines, and experience implementing security best practices. The architect will also mentor staff, troubleshoot complex issues, and lead architectural reviews.

Qualifications

• Possess deep knowledge of key Azure services (VMs, Azure Storage, Azure SQL/Cosmos DB, VNet, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Functions, Azure Resource Manager templates).
• Have experience leading cloud migrations or implementations in a complex multi-tenant/subscription environment.
• Demonstrate strong network troubleshooting abilities.
• Be familiar with Azure Landing Zone implementations and management using reference architectures or deployment tools.
• Show proficiency with infrastructure as code (ARM templates, Bicep, Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
• Have experience implementing security best practices (e.g., Azure RBAC, encryption, network segmentation, Azure Policies).
• Be familiar with DevOps principles, containerization (Docker, AKS, Azure Container Apps), and serverless architectures.
• Possess strong troubleshooting abilities across networking, storage, and compute layers in Azure.
• Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Have proven experience mentoring staff and fostering a collaborative, learning-focused environment.
• Demonstrate effective problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.
• Possess strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Show ability to lead architectural reviews and navigate ambiguity in designing solutions to complex business problems.

Responsibilities

• Lead cloud migrations or implementations in a complex multi-tenant/subscription environment.
• Resolve connectivity issues within the Azure cloud environment and between Azure and on-premises environments (e.g., ExpressRoute, VPN).
• Implement security best practices (e.g., Azure RBAC, encryption, network segmentation, Azure Policies).
• Mentor staff and foster a collaborative, learning-focused environment.
• Manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Lead architectural reviews and navigate ambiguity in designing solutions to complex business problems.
