Azure Cloud Engineer (DevOps)

Job summary

The Intermediate Azure DevOps Engineer implements, automates, and supports production Microsoft Azure environments across multiple client environments. The role covers Azure infrastructure, migrations, troubleshooting, cost and security controls, Terraform or Bicep infrastructure as code, YAML CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, and PowerShell automation. It also includes monitoring, backup and recovery support, technical documentation, and operational handovers.

Qualifications

• Approximately 3–5 years of relevant infrastructure, cloud, or DevOps experience, including hands-on Azure administration.
• Experience deploying and supporting production Azure environments.
• Experience with Terraform or Bicep and infrastructure as code.
• Experience building or maintaining YAML pipelines in Azure DevOps.
• Proficiency with PowerShell and Git.
• Understanding of Azure networking, identity, access controls, monitoring, and backup.
• Ability to troubleshoot independently, recognize risks, and escalate appropriately.
• Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage assigned work across multiple client environments.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and maintain Azure virtual machines, storage, virtual networks, backup, and monitoring services.
• Configure network security groups, VPN connectivity, private endpoints, and DNS.
• Support migrations from on-premises and hosted infrastructure to Azure.
• Troubleshoot performance, availability, connectivity, configuration, and deployment issues.
• Improve resource utilization and manage cloud costs.
• Build and maintain Terraform or Bicep infrastructure as code and reusable deployment templates.
• Develop and support Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployments.
• Automate provisioning, maintenance, and operational tasks with PowerShell.
• Manage Git repositories, pull requests, code reviews, testing, approvals, and rollback procedures.
• Apply least-privilege access using Microsoft Entra ID, role-based access control, and managed identities.
• Secure secrets with Azure Key Vault and pipeline controls; apply Azure Policy, tagging, and configuration standards.
• Investigate and remediate Microsoft Defender for Cloud findings and support security and audit evidence requirements.
• Configure Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, dashboards, and actionable alerts.
• Support backup and recovery testing and document incidents, causes, and corrective actions.
• Maintain infrastructure diagrams, configuration records, deployment guides, and operational runbooks.
• Communicate technical progress, risks, and issues, and support operational handovers.
