Platform Engineering Manager, Cloud Infrastructure

Job summary

Garner Health is seeking a Platform Engineering Manager to lead the Cloud Infrastructure Squad. This role involves owning the reliability, scalability, and security of foundational cloud systems and services on AWS, defining and executing the technical roadmap, and leading a high-performing team of infrastructure engineers. The manager will partner with other engineering teams to ensure fast, safe, and scalable delivery across the organization.

• 5+ years of hands-on cloud infrastructure or platform engineering experience
• 2+ years in an engineering management role leading cloud-based infrastructure teams
• Deep expertise with AWS and modern infrastructure tooling
• Expertise in Kubernetes and Terraform
• Working familiarity with Istio, Postgres, and NATS
• Track record of building and scaling reliable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud platforms
• Experience setting and managing SLOs/SLAs
• Experience driving incident response processes

Responsibilities

• Own reliability, performance, and security of Garner’s cloud infrastructure on AWS
• Serve as accountable party for platform uptime, incident response, and operational excellence
• Define and execute technical roadmap for cloud infrastructure squad
• Prioritize investments across Kubernetes, Terraform, Istio, Postgres, NATS, and observability tooling
• Lead and develop a high-performing team of infrastructure engineers
• Hire exceptional talent

• Partner with product engineering, data engineering, and security teams
• Ensure platform enables fast, safe, and scalable delivery
