Build and Release Manager

Job summary

Gallagher Bassett is seeking a Build and Release Manager to support project planning and delivery by coordinating activities, tracking progress, and managing risks and dependencies. This role involves providing governance and administrative support, improving portfolio visibility, and enabling project teams to focus on effective, timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting IT projects that include both application development and operational/support elements
• Working knowledge of project management practices, with a recognized qualification or equivalent hands-on delivery experience
• Familiarity with common software delivery lifecycles, including Agile and waterfall methodologies
• Bachelor's degree and 1 year related experience
• Experience working within an IT portfolio, PMO, or central delivery function
• Exposure to portfolio or project management tools
• Previous coordination experience across multiple teams or workstreams
• Understanding of resource planning, release coordination, or change management processes
• Experience supporting UAT, release planning, or post-release activities

Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders to analyze requirements and manage priorities
• Act as the primary liaison between Portfolio Management, business stakeholders, and IT delivery teams
• Own and maintain the central portfolio backlog and support prioritization decisions
• Manage budgets, resource allocation, and capacity planning
• Provide regular portfolio and operational reporting
• Align teams, manage dependencies, and support PMO governance activities
• Administer portfolio tooling, including project initiation, resourcing, tracking, and closure
• Plan and coordinate application releases with development teams, including scheduling, UAT, change management, and rollout support
• Provide early life support activities following releases
