Job summary

As a DevOps Engineer, you will be part of our software team, developing the technical platform for Linux-based production and testing systems and actively contributing to building our new software architecture. Your focus will be on CI/CD, deployment, and the technical basis of our field devices. This role involves optimizing CI/CD pipelines, Dockerizing applications, and developing robust build, test, and deployment processes.

Qualifications

  • Several years of practical experience in software development, DevOps, or a comparable technical role
  • Good knowledge of Python and a solid understanding of Linux systems
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, ideally with GitLab CI
  • Experience with Docker and container-based development and deployment processes
  • Practical experience in scripting and automation, e.g., with Python or Bash
  • Understanding of build, test, and release processes in established software landscapes
  • Structured, independent, and solution-oriented working style
  • Strong communication skills and enjoyment of collaboration in a small, technically oriented team

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to building the new software platform for production systems
  • Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines in GitLab for Python and C++ projects
  • Dockerize applications and develop robust build, test, and deployment processes
  • Design and further develop deployment solutions for internal servers and field devices
  • Contribute to the development of the operating system basis for field devices using DevOps and GitOps principles
  • Evaluate and introduce new technical approaches, such as declarative system configurations with NixOS
