Job summary

The Cloud DevOps and Governance Engineer supports a Google Cloud data platform refinement initiative by provisioning infrastructure with Terraform, automating deployments, and enforcing security and governance controls. The role manages services including Cloud Composer, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Dataplex, and Cloud DLP; builds CI/CD promotion workflows for data pipelines and models; and configures Cloud Monitoring alerts and dashboards across isolated development, test, and production environments.

Qualifications

• Possess at least one required Google Cloud certification: Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer or Professional Cloud Security Engineer.
• At least 5 years of experience in Cloud DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Data Governance.
• At least 3 years of experience writing, modularizing, and maintaining Terraform scripts on GCP.
• Hands-on proficiency with GCP core services, including Cloud Composer, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataform, Dataplex, Cloud DLP, Cloud Monitoring, Pub/Sub, and Cloud IAM.
• Strong expertise in GitHub CI/CD pipelines, automated deployment workflows, and code promotion across development, test, and production environments.

Responsibilities

• Provision and manage GCP infrastructure using Terraform, including Cloud Composer, BigQuery, Cloud Storage landing zones, Pub/Sub, Dataplex, and Cloud DLP.
• Build and maintain CI/CD promotion workflows across development, test, and production environments for Airflow DAGs, Data Fusion pipelines, Dataform models, BigQuery objects, and monitoring configurations.
• Deploy Dataplex discovery and profiling scans and configure Cloud DLP inspection templates for sensitive personal information.
• Enforce least-privilege IAM roles, service account isolation, secrets management, and encryption standards.
• Configure Cloud Monitoring alert policies and dashboards for job failures, long-running processes, schema drift, and reconciliation mismatches.
• Isolate pipelines, service accounts, and environments to prevent cross-impact between program domains.
