Job summary
The Cloud and Platform Engineer role involves designing, optimizing, and managing infrastructure and platforms for clients, leveraging cloud engineering, DevOps, and Site Reliability Engineering practices. Key responsibilities include implementing CI/CD automation, managing infrastructure-as-code, and ensuring observability and reliability metrics, utilizing technologies such as Docker, Terraform, and Kubernetes across cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Qualifications
- Active SC (Security Check) Clearance or eligibility for clearance
- Hands-on experience in cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep, Pulumi
- Experience with configuration management tools: Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Packer
- Knowledge of networking, virtualization, and compute provisioning
- Experience in building or operating internal developer platforms
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration
- Ability to design and maintain CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with version control systems: Git, GitHub, GitLab
- Experience in agile team environments
- Knowledge of SLIs/SLOs/error budgets and incident response practices
- Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools
- Scripting skills (bash/shell)
- Experience with testing tools: Selenium, Cucumber
- Ability to support various technologies and converse with stakeholders
Responsibilities
- Design and implement CI/CD automation and infrastructure-as-code
- Provision, configure, build, deploy, and monitor infrastructure and platforms
- Define observability practices and track reliability metrics
- Build and maintain internal developer platforms and self-service tooling
- Collaborate with clients and teams to identify engineering opportunities
- Provide operational support and resolve production issues
- Conduct systems tests for security, performance, and availability
- Mentor colleagues and enhance personal skills
