Cloud Architect – Alibaba Cloud

Job summary

The Cloud Architect role focuses on designing and building a modern, automated architecture for migrating workloads to a Chinese cloud provider, specifically Alibaba Cloud. Key responsibilities include conducting technical feasibility studies, designing network architectures, and replicating automation mechanisms using Terraform and Helm, while ensuring API connectivity and security policies are maintained.

Qualifications

• Proven track record on a Chinese cloud provider
• At least 5 years of experience as a Senior Cloud Consultant or Cloud Architect
• Mastery of managed Kubernetes ecosystem
• Expertise in Terraform and Helm
• Strong skills in international network architecture and cross-border connectivity
• GCP skills
• Knowledge of security solutions (WAF/Cloud Armor) and identity management (SSO/Google Cloud Identity)
• Fluent in English
• French or Mandarin is a major asset

Responsibilities

• Conduct technical feasibility study
• Define target architecture
• Present detailed estimation to the CIO
• Design and build infrastructure on a Chinese cloud provider
• Replicate existing automation mechanisms on GCP using Terraform
• Deploy new clusters via Helm
• Design network architectures (SD-WAN, cross-border line)
• Maintain API connectivity with Google
• Manage authentication interoperability (Google Identity)
• Define security policies equivalent to Cloud Armor
