Cloud Architect AWS - Kubernetes & Containerization Specialist

Job summary

Architect, deploy, and manage secure, scalable containerized applications on AWS for a law enforcement cloud platform supporting national security operations. The role covers Kubernetes on EKS, ECS and Fargate; Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and CloudFormation; CI/CD automation; and security, compliance, monitoring, logging, and incident response in line with public sector requirements.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of AWS cloud architecture experience, including government or public sector projects.
• Advanced knowledge of EC2, VPC, IAM, and Route 53.
• Hands-on AWS EKS experience, including cluster management, security policies, and multi-tenant environments.
• Experience deploying containerized applications on ECS and Fargate.
• Experience with Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or similar infrastructure automation tools.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, or GitLab.
• Active SC and NPPV3 clearance, or willingness and ability to obtain both.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement highly available, secure AWS containerized applications using EKS, ECS, and Fargate.
• Meet public sector security and compliance requirements, including NCSC Cloud Security Principles, GDPR, and ISO standards.
• Implement IAM policies, VPC and network configurations, and secure secrets management.
• Develop reusable infrastructure as code with Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
• Design automated CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab, and AWS CodePipeline.
• Advise teams on AWS container services and secure cloud operations.
• Establish monitoring, logging, and incident response using CloudWatch, ELK Stack, and Prometheus.
