Job summary
Design and build secure, resilient, and scalable Microsoft Azure infrastructure for technology, AI, and data initiatives in the financial services sector. The role automates infrastructure and delivery, establishes reusable patterns and governance controls, and provides strategic implementation and third-line support across engineering, architecture, security, and application teams. Key technologies include Terraform, Bicep, Azure Policy, PowerShell, Python, Azure DevOps, Kubernetes, and Azure Monitor.

Qualifications
- In-depth Microsoft Azure experience across compute, networking, storage, and identity, including Entra ID.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience with Terraform and/or Bicep.
- Knowledge of Policy as Code tools such as Azure Policy, Open Policy Agent, or Terraform Sentinel.
- Strong understanding of Azure security, including identity and access management, network segmentation, private endpoints, Key Vault, and Defender for Cloud.
- Strong scripting experience with PowerShell, Python, or Go.
- Experience with CI/CD and DevOps tools.
- Understanding of container technologies.
- Knowledge of Windows and Linux fundamentals, diagnostics, and monitoring.
- Understanding of systems development and product lifecycles.
- Experience translating requirements into automated infrastructure solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and automate secure, scalable Azure infrastructure.
- Translate application, platform, and business requirements into reusable infrastructure patterns.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Bicep.
- Support automated configuration management with Ansible, Puppet, or Azure Automation.
- Implement cloud governance and Policy as Code controls.
- Build security controls for identity, networking, secrets, and access.
- Develop automation and tooling with PowerShell, Python, or Go.
- Support automated delivery using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Git.
- Support containerised workloads using Docker, Kubernetes, AKS, and Azure Container Apps.
- Monitor and troubleshoot cloud environments using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.
- Support infrastructure requirements for emerging AI and data services.
- Contribute to Azure strategy, implementation, and third-line support.
