Job summary

SET - Software Engineering GmbH is seeking a Cloud Data Center Specialist Platform Engineer to build, operate, and enhance container platforms using modern technologies like Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• Completed degree in Computer Science or a comparable field or equivalent training with relevant work experience
• Several years of experience in platform engineering and building and operating CaaS and IaaS platforms
• Solid knowledge in administration and integration of modern cloud technologies, especially Kubernetes and virtualization platforms
• Experience in security, compliance, and integrating platform solutions into existing operational processes
• Practical knowledge in automating IT infrastructures and using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and GitOps
• Structured, solution-oriented work style with strong analytical skills
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and advise users and stakeholders competently
• Good understanding of GPU technologies and their efficient use for AI/ML applications
• Willingness to learn about building and operating CI/CD pipelines including automated build, test, and deployment processes
• Interest in operating and securing modern cloud environments with a desire to expand knowledge in IAM, network security, monitoring, and logging
• Knowledge in developing cloud-native applications and operators (e.g., with Go) is a plus
• Experience with monitoring, observability, and availability concepts as well as backup and disaster recovery strategies

Responsibilities

• Build, operate, and enhance container platforms using Kubernetes
• Design and operate GPU infrastructures for data-intensive applications and AI/Deep Learning scenarios
• Implement automation, deployment, and scaling processes using Infrastructure, Configuration, and Policy-as-Code and GitOps
• Develop APIs, CLI tools, and self-service solutions for development teams
• Analyze and resolve technical issues and provide last-level support
• Advise stakeholders on architecture and usage concepts and assist in onboarding new platform users
• Collaborate with internal teams to continuously optimize platform services
