Cloud Data Platform Engineer

Job summary

The Cloud Data Platform Engineer is tasked with designing, building, and automating cloud platform capabilities to support data, analytics, and AI strategies. This role involves developing Infrastructure-as-Code solutions with Terraform, creating automation scripts using PowerShell, and managing Azure DevOps pipelines to ensure secure and scalable services across Azure, Databricks, and Synapse.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline is preferred
• Equivalent combination of education and practical experience may be considered
• 5-8+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps
• Strong hands-on experience designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions
• Strong hands-on Terraform skills
• Advanced experience building automation solutions using PowerShell
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, Git, branching strategies
• Demonstrated experience performing code reviews
• Experience supporting cloud-based analytics, data, or AI platforms
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, identity and access management, security
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Design, build, develop, deploy, and support enterprise cloud platform capabilities within Microsoft Azure
• Develop, maintain, and enhance Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform
• Perform hands-on development work to build automation scripts, platform services, deployment pipelines
• Create, optimize, and support automation solutions using PowerShell, Azure DevOps
• Design, implement, and maintain Azure DevOps pipelines
• Review cloud engineering deliverables
• Conduct code reviews, provide constructive technical feedback
• Engineer and support platform capabilities across Azure Databricks, Unity Catalog, Azure Synapse Analytics
• Collaborate with architects, data engineers, cloud engineers, security, infrastructure, operations, and product teams
• Identify, manage, and communicate technical risks, dependencies, issues
• Support platform monitoring, observability, capacity planning, incident resolution
• Create and maintain technical documentation, implementation guides, operational runbooks
• Coach and support junior and intermediate engineers
