Cloud Data Platform Engineer

Job summary

Lead the build-out of Simplot’s SAP Datasphere environment into a scalable, production-ready state, defining data integration, governance, and delivery across systems.

Qualifications

• 4-10 years of experience in data engineering or platform engineering
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms and tools
• Strong understanding of data platform architecture
• Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with automation and scripting
• Ability to evaluate and recommend platform design patterns

Responsibilities

• Lead setup and configuration of the Datasphere platform
• Define and implement Datasphere architecture
• Design data integration between Datasphere and other systems
• Identify and assess maintenance and support needs
• Provide ongoing maintenance and support for the platform
• Design and implement the Datasphere security model
• Ensure alignment with data governance standards
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code
• Create and maintain technical documentation
