Cloud Engineer - AWS

Job summary

Design, build, and operate secure, scalable, highly available AWS landing zones for client platforms and services. Manage their full lifecycle using Infrastructure as Code, including AWS CDK and CloudFormation, and support containerized workloads with Fargate and EKS. Automate infrastructure and CI/CD workflows, maintain Linux environments, monitor platform health, respond to incidents, and advise teammates on cloud security and architecture.

Qualifications

• Experience as a system, cloud, or DevOps engineer in a complex, mission-critical AWS environment.
• Hands-on Infrastructure as Code experience, particularly with AWS CDK or CloudFormation.
• Experience with AWS container services, especially AWS Fargate.
• Strong Linux system administration knowledge.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Understanding of CI/CD, configuration management, and monitoring.
• Familiarity with Datadog, Splunk, Okta, GitLab, or GitHub is a plus.
• Experience with Chef or Octopus is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and manage AWS landing zones using AWS CDK and CloudFormation.

• Automate operational tasks, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure management with Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Monitor platform stability and performance, manage logging, and respond to incidents.
• Manage Linux environments through provisioning, configuration, maintenance, and decommissioning.
• Advise teammates on cloud best practices, security, and architecture.
• Collaborate using GitLab, GitHub, and Git-based workflows.
