Job summary

The Azure Platform Engineer at Smile Digital Health is responsible for designing, deploying, and operating production-grade Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters, focusing on cluster internals, networking, security hardening, and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Act as the subject-matter expert for Kubernetes deployments and production issues.
• Design and deploy Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters.
• Manage health, scaling, and lifecycle of production AKS clusters.
• Configure AKS networking and load balancers.
• Maintain integrations between AKS and Azure services.
• Manage containerized application deployments using Docker and Helm.
• Harden AKS environments through policy enforcement.
• Manage container and cluster vulnerability scanning and remediation.
• Contribute to Terraform-based infrastructure as code.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows.
• Implement observability across Grafana and Azure tools.
• Collaborate to resolve performance bottlenecks in AKS.
• Contribute to Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning.
• Provide escalation support for production incidents.
• Document operational knowledge and maintain a knowledge base.
