Job summary

This hands-on engineering role builds, deploys, and improves secure, scalable Microsoft Azure platforms and delivery pipelines. Responsibilities include Infrastructure as Code with Terraform or Bicep, Azure DevOps CI/CD, automation, and support for Azure Storage, including Azure Files, hybrid file shares, and storage migrations. The role also covers monitoring, security checks, troubleshooting, and collaboration with architects and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Microsoft Azure experience in a cloud engineering or DevOps role.
• Practical experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and repositories.
• Experience with Terraform or Bicep for infrastructure as code.
• Working knowledge of Azure networking, identity, compute, and storage.
• Working knowledge of Azure Files, storage accounts, file sharing, SMB connectivity, and storage permissions.
• Experience with Git and source control.
• Some scripting and automation experience using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, cloud security, reliability, scalability, and availability.
• Experience troubleshooting infrastructure or deployment issues.
• Experience working in Agile or multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Ability to work independently on defined tasks and collaborate with senior engineers and technical specialists.
• Eligible and willing to obtain and maintain UK Security Check (SC) clearance.

Responsibilities

• Build, configure, and maintain Azure cloud environments and infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform or Bicep.
• Create, support, and improve Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and application deployments.
• Configure and support Azure Storage, Azure Files, and storage accounts.
• Support cloud file shares, storage permissions, and hybrid storage solutions.
• Troubleshoot storage connectivity, access, permissions, and performance.
• Assist with file storage migrations and integration with existing infrastructure.
• Develop reusable infrastructure modules and deployment templates.
• Add automated testing, security checks, and quality controls to deployment pipelines.
• Support Azure networking, identity, compute, storage, and security services.
• Configure and maintain cloud monitoring, logging, and alerting.
• Investigate and resolve infrastructure, pipeline, and deployment issues.
• Maintain technical documentation, deployment procedures, and operational runbooks.
