Cloud Engineer (Backup/Rubrik)

Job summary

The Cloud Engineer role at SSE PLC focuses on backup capabilities using Rubrik, contributing to the design and delivery of services in the backup/data protection space across various cloud services.

Qualifications

• Experience with backup solutions, especially cloud-focused
• Experience managing Rubrik environments preferred
• Understanding of Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure
• Strong analytical skills and operational support knowledge
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle and scripting languages
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and Configuration Management

Responsibilities

• Take an SME role for the backup platform
• Collaborate with IT Operations partner
• Manage demand planning and delivery with Product owners
• Contribute to automation and deployment frameworks
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering practices
• Ensure architecture accommodates security and software lifecycle patterns
