Job summary

The Cloud Engineer role involves implementing and supporting Azure and Private Cloud infrastructure solutions while ensuring compliance with financial services regulations. Key responsibilities include configuring and optimizing compute, storage, networking, and security services, mentoring Level 2 engineers, and collaborating with senior engineers on solution delivery in complex environments.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering Azure and Private Cloud infrastructure solutions
• Experience with VMware and VMware Cloud Foundation environments
• Experience with backup technologies such as Veeam and/or Rubrik
• Knowledge of cloud security and compliance frameworks

Responsibilities

• Implement and support Azure and Private Cloud infrastructure solutions
• Configure, manage, and optimise compute, storage, networking, and security services
• Support migration, modernisation, and upgrade activities
• Act as a technical escalation point for complex incidents and changes
• Create and maintain accurate technical documentation
• Support service transition into in life managed support
• Collaborate with senior engineers and architects on solution delivery
• Mentor Level 2 engineers and support skills development
• Clearly communicate technical decisions and issues to stakeholders
• Ensure engineering activities comply with financial services regulations
• Apply security, data protection, and operational resilience controls
• Support audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews
• Maintain audit ready documentation and change records
• Track and manage technical risks, issues, and actions
• Support governance activities including incident and change management
• Contribute to service reporting and operational reviews
• Ensure documentation aligns with governance standards
