Cloud Engineer

Job summary

Designs and builds scalable cloud-native platform capabilities, with a focus on Kubernetes layers, underlying infrastructure, and applications and services. The role develops cluster lifecycle automation and platform components for networking, storage, security, and resource management, while collaborating with engineering teams and supporting reliability through on-call rotations and incident reviews. The platform environment includes Kubernetes, OpenStack, public cloud, and Infrastructure as Code technologies.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of software development or cloud/platform engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Go or Python.
• Experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation tools such as Terraform.
• Experience with at least one major public cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience using AI-assisted tools to improve engineering efficiency and quality.
• Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry.
• Preferred: experience with large-scale or multi-tenant Kubernetes clusters.
• Preferred: familiarity with OpenStack in private or hybrid cloud environments.
• Preferred: experience with testing frameworks and test-driven development.
• Preferred: understanding of security scanning, vulnerability management, and compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, PCI-DSS, or GDPR.
• Preferred: experience with CI/CD, GitOps, or developer platform enablement.

Responsibilities

• Design and build foundational cloud-native capabilities focused on Kubernetes layers and underlying infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain automation and tooling for Kubernetes cluster lifecycle management, configuration, and upgrades.
• Enhance platform components for Kubernetes networking, storage, security, and resource management.
• Collaborate with SRE, security, networking, and application teams to deliver scalable platform capabilities.
• Use AI-assisted engineering tools to improve productivity, code quality, and troubleshooting.
• Participate in on-call rotations, incident response, and post-incident reviews.
