Job summary

The Cloud Engineer Cyber Recovery will implement, administer, and monitor IT systems and services within hybrid infrastructures, focusing on cyber recovery. This role involves analyzing and resolving incidents in 2nd and 3rd-level support, continuously developing existing systems, and ensuring smooth system operations. The engineer will also manage external partners, contribute to concept development, and support IT project planning and execution.

Qualifications

  • Solid professional experience with backup and recovery solutions such as Veeam, AvePoint, or Rubrik in hybrid IT environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft cloud technologies, especially M365, Azure, Active Directory/Entra ID, Exchange, and SharePoint.
  • In-depth expertise in cyber recovery and in restoring systems after cyberattacks.
  • Experience in IT Service Continuity Management and Business Continuity Management.
  • Practical experience in infrastructure automation, for example using Terraform.
  • Experience using AI-based solutions for system and process optimization.
  • Ability to work analytically, in a structured and self-driven manner, and maintain oversight even in critical situations.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

  • Implement, administer, and monitor IT systems and services within hybrid infrastructures (on-premises, multi-cloud, and hybrid cloud environments), including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS services and their integration and Infrastructure as Code, using Terraform, with a strong focus on cyber recovery.
  • Analyze and resolve incidents in 2nd- and 3rd-level support, emphasizing cyber recovery scenarios.
  • Continuously develop existing systems and services to improve performance, reduce costs, and minimize risks, including through automation and AI.
  • Ensure smooth system operations and correct and efficient licensing within lifecycle management.
  • Manage and control external partners and service providers in coordination with management and support market analyses for hardware, software, and IT services selection and evaluation.
  • Contribute to the development of concepts and implement these concepts in solutions related to cyber recovery and business continuity.
  • Support the planning, coordination, and execution of IT projects and business sub-projects during implementation, testing, and rollout phases.
  • Participate in advising business departments on projects and changes to IT services, systems, and applications, particularly with a focus on cyber recovery and continuity management.
  • Create and maintain necessary documentation for operations and support, especially for cyber recovery processes.
  • Support the continuous analysis of process improvements as well as efficient interface and automation solutions, and evaluate and implement them.
