Cloud Engineer – Deployment and Support

Job summary

Build, deploy, and support secure, resilient enterprise cloud infrastructure for business-critical applications, owning deployments from automated provisioning through day-two operations. Operate AWS and Azure environments, automate infrastructure with Terraform and configuration-management tools, provide L2/L3 incident support, govern changes, build Datadog and Splunk observability, and enforce security and compliance controls in a global, regulated enterprise environment.

Qualifications

• Substantial hands-on experience deploying and supporting enterprise infrastructure in large-scale, global, multi-vendor environments.
• Proficiency in AWS or Azure across compute, networking, storage, identity, and PaaS.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Terraform, preferably, and Ansible or equivalent tools.
• Scripting experience with PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
• CI/CD experience with Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
• Experience with ServiceNow Incident, Problem, Change, and CMDB processes.
• Strong ITIL/ITSM knowledge and experience with Datadog and Splunk.
• English proficiency; additional languages are a plus.
• Experience in a regulated industry such as pharmaceuticals or life sciences is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and operate enterprise infrastructure across AWS and Azure, including landing zones, networks, compute, containers, databases, storage, and PaaS.
• Automate repeatable, version-controlled, auditable deployments using infrastructure as code and configuration-management tools.
• Provide L2/L3 incident and problem support, develop runbooks, reduce resolution times, and contribute to root cause analysis.
• Plan and govern infrastructure changes, including risk assessments and rollback procedures, and represent changes at the Change Advisory Board.
• Onboard configuration items into Datadog and Splunk, define alerts, and build infrastructure health dashboards.
• Enforce security hardening, least-privilege access, patch compliance, and vulnerability remediation.
