Job summary
Empower AI is seeking a Cloud Engineer to architect, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure for U.S. Army IT managed services.
Qualifications
- 5–8 years of hands-on cloud engineering experience
- CompTIA Security+ CE certification required
- Active cloud certification required
- Active DoD Secret Clearance required at time of hire
- Experience on at least one FedRAMP-authorized cloud platform
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals
- Experience with virtualization and container technologies
- Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53, FISMA, RMF, and DoD cloud security requirements
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field required
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure on FedRAMP-authorized platforms
- Lead technical execution of cloud migration efforts
- Support on-premises infrastructure environments
- Develop and enforce cloud governance policies
- Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Azure Bicep
- Maintain high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans
- Oversee hybrid network connectivity
- Monitor infrastructure performance and security posture
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams
- Support FinOps practices
- Provide technical documentation
- Mentor junior engineers
