Cloud Engineer

Job summary

The Cloud Engineer role is responsible for building and operating secure, resilient cloud capabilities for a mission-focused platform. Key responsibilities include designing and deploying AWS cloud infrastructure, managing containerized services with Kubernetes, and developing Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD workflows to ensure reliable and maintainable systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• Demonstrated experience designing, deploying, and operating scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems in AWS
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container ecosystems
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines with tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Github Actions, or AWS CodePipeline
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or comparable tooling
• Working knowledge of AWS networking
• Experience implementing cloud security controls
• Ability to diagnose distributed-system failures
• Self-starter who can work independently while collaborating effectively

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and deploy AWS cloud infrastructure and application services
• Build and operate containerized services using Kubernetes
• Develop repeatable Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD workflows
• Integrate data and application services across APIs
• Apply cloud security practices
• Instrument services and infrastructure for health, performance, and operational insight
• Partner with architects, software engineers, data specialists, security teams, and customer stakeholders
• Produce clear architecture notes, runbooks, deployment guidance, and other maintainable documentation
