Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in information technology, DevOps, infrastructure maintenance, system administration, cloud development, platform engineering, or automation development.
  • 3+ years supporting and developing templates and code for Kubernetes services including HELM, Kustomize, and Kubernetes manifest files.
  • 2+ years of experience supporting and maintaining critical infrastructure, troubleshooting support escalations, and ensuring key KPIs.
  • Deep knowledge of Cloud services with hands-on experience building critical infrastructure from scratch.
  • Proven experience building, maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting Kubernetes and serverless infrastructure.
  • Ability to build new clusters and experience with migrating applications.
  • Experience with scripting and programming languages including Powershell, Python, and Bash.
  • Proven experience translating architecture and technical requirements to new cloud infrastructure.
  • Intermediate Cloud certifications required, including associate level certifications in AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Professional level certifications preferred.
  • Kubernetes related certifications including CKA, CKD, and CKS.
  • Broad experience with infrastructure core technologies including security, networking, database, data streaming, deployment automation and tooling, monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with and support clients.
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining documentation including procedures, build books, and technical standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, automate, deploy, and operate production-grade services on cloud vendors and infrastructure platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and deliver complex, highly available cloud and platform solutions.
  • Provide recommendations and expertise for cloud and platform provisioning.
  • Participate in cloud and infrastructure deployments and delivery, offering subject matter expertise.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure code for solutions and support clients or partners on Smile-supported infrastructure codes.
  • Maintain documentation, forms, and processes including technical documentation, standard operating procedures, implementation plans, and root cause analyses.
  • Participate in sprint, project, and department planning for technology implementations and transformation.
  • Contribute to tooling capability assessments, proof of concepts, and technology roadmaps.
  • Leverage novel cloud and platform technologies to enhance operations, maintenance, and security.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for application and infrastructure support, incident management, and troubleshooting.
