Job summary

UPMC is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to join their Corporate Technology Services Team, focusing on Cloud Strategy, Infrastructure, Security, Architecture, and Governance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years Azure (IaaS, PaaS, & SaaS) with 5+ years overall IT experience
• Microsoft Azure Administrator and/or AWS certification preferred
• Multi-cloud experience preferred
• Sound understanding of SQL, Web, Networking, and Security best practices
• Security mindset with understanding of HIPAA and Data Privacy
• Working knowledge of DevOps and data integration
• Understanding of Container services
• Ability to script using PowerShell
• Ability to develop complex Azure Resource Manager Templates
• Ability to multi-task and manage projects
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Maintain systems and provide end user and application support
• Plan and execute technical design and architecture for new platforms
• Analyze customer needs and create technical designs
• Document Cloud policies and procedures
• Research and analyze for project proposals and system modifications
• Review Cloud tool sets for efficiency and performance
• Conduct research on cloud environment issues and propose solutions
• Own system design, security, scalability, reliability, and performance of Cloud projects
• Implement tools and processes for efficiency and automation
• Mentor and develop team members through collaboration
• Respond to production issues as needed 24x7x365
