Cloud Engineer Sr

Job summary

The Cloud Engineer automates and operates managed platform services across development, test, and production environments, improving the reliability, efficiency, and security of cloud operations. The role maintains CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure, monitors system performance and logs, and applies configuration management and security controls using AWS, GitLab, OpenShift, and related services. It also supports operational engineering work and participates in SAFe and Scrum teams.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship
• Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to obtain a CI polygraph
• At least 8 years of relevant experience
• Working knowledge of TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, and Bash
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines deploying or updating services in OpenShift or AWS
• Understanding of GitLab or other DevSecOps and continuous integration tools
• Knowledge of network technologies, infrastructure components, load balancers, firewalls, and virtual and physical infrastructure design
• Willingness to learn customer-agency cross-domain services

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve CI/CD build and deployment processes across development, test, and production systems
• Integrate services with enterprise authentication
• Maintain and enhance infrastructure, including autoscaling, new service support, and cost optimization
• Aggregate server logs and monitor for security and system incidents
• Analyze system performance, server load, and resource usage
• Manage software revisions, security patches, system hardening, and operational documentation
• Enforce security and reliability practices, including access control and vulnerability testing
• Coordinate with A&A teams to maintain system security requirements
• Track operational engineering tasks and validate completion
• Participate in SAFe and Scrum teams and meetings
